Teen sensations the Jonas Brothers played Wednesday night in Raleigh before a sold-out crowd at Walnut Creek Amphitheater.
And for roughly 20,000 screaming girls, it was worth every heart-throbbing minute.
The Jonas Brothers, if you haven't heard them or heard of them, are a big deal to most girls old enough to belt out jetliner-decibel screeches and screams.
On Wednesday night, in a sea of bright glow sticks, homemade Jonas Brothers T-shirts and daddies wishing they were anywhere else, a sort of energy took hold and rocked the amphitheater to its roots.
Just after 9 p.m. the lights went out and the roar from the slumber party of 20,000 ushered the brothers on stage with large shooting flames, tons of lighting and two giant screens.
Now it will be the subject of thousands of text messages and phone calls. Every detail will be dissected at sleepovers and in living rooms.
But most of all it will be a lasting memory -- a time stamp that some will bookmark and others will forget as years pass.
But for one night, July 30, 2008, it was magic.
